Guaranteed Return*
Fixed annuities offer attractive interest rates and lifetime guarantees. Many clients are using fixed annuities with a very competitive interest rate guaranteed for 1, 2, 3 . . . up to 10 years. Other clients are receiving income that is guaranteed to be paid to them with no reduction in amount over a 5-year or 10-year period (other payment modes are available). Some investors are concerned about having to leave money in a fixed annuity but some of today’s plans have no surrender charges, even in the first year.

Taking Some Risk**
Many of our clients are willing to take on some risk of their principal investment to receive the potential of a higher return. Visit with us about the Financial Pyramid and how it can make a difference in the return you are receiving on your savings and investment plans.
**Investment return and principal value of securities will fluctuate, so that the investment, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than the original cost. Mutual Funds and variable annuities are sold by prospectus. Carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of a fund or sub account before investing. This and other information is contained in the prospectus available from your registered representative. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.
How Much Risk?
This is your decision. Our associates are trained to assist you, working from your side of the table, to determine a portfolio that has the amount of risk that is comfortable for you.
Return ON Principal or Return OF Principal?
We often mention this to our clients. Many of our clients prefer to have all guaranteed* products – with a guaranteed return of principal and a guaranteed rate. Other clients want the highest rate of return possible and are willing to risk their principal. We offer plans for both types of clients. **Investment return and principal value of securities will fluctuate, so that the investment, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than the original cost. Fixed Annuities
Fixed annuities are discussed above under “Guaranteed Return.” We believe that fixed annuities are the foundation of a secure financial plan and can be a major part of a client’s investment portfolio depending on the client’s risk tolerance and time horizon. We offer fixed annuities from well-known insurance companies and will provide you with information on plans from several different companies.
Variable Annuities
A variable annuity is a product that gives the client an opportunity to invest in sub accounts that are invested in turn in securities. Depending on the guarantees referenced there are other charges. Guarantees are based on the claim paying ability of the issuing company and do not apply to the investment sub accounts. Many variable annuities that we recommend provide a guaranteed minimum income benefit that pays a guaranteed minimum income regardless of the investment sub account performance. The income benefit riders generally have an additional charge, which is disclosed in the prospectus.
Variable annuities that we recommend pay a death benefit of the greater of the contract value or the sum of all purchase payments less adjustments for surrenders. Additionally, some variable annuities offer death benefit options that provide an increasing death benefit, regardless of subaccount performance, for an additional fee which is disclosed in the prospectus. Over time the cost may offset the benefit and no benefit may be derived.
Carefully consider a sub account's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses before investing. This and other information is contained in the prospectus available from your representative. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.
Guaranteed Income
A client may want to retire but has five years until they will be eligible for Social Security. In this case, we can invest some of their money into a single-premium immediate fixed annuity and the client will receive a guaranteed*monthly income for five years (other payment modes are available). This is a very popular means of “bridging the gap” until the client is eligible for Social Security.
